Crust Gourmet Pizza
Crust Gourmet Pizza is seriously the best kind of anything I've ever eaten. Sorry, JJ's Pie Co., Crust is now my new favorite place to dine-in or order out. So, what makes it so delicious? The crust is the perfectly thin but not too crunchy and the toppings are anything but wimpy. The menu is divided by meat selection and the Chicken section is amazing. A major plus to the whole thing is that you can half-and-half it so you can try out two types of pizza. Our selection? Peri-Peri which is grilled chicken, red peppers, mozzarella, and their special "peri-peri" sauce which is a creamy/spicy concoction that makes a heavenly addition with the caramelized onions and shallots. The other half of our pizza is usually the Pesto Chicken Club because I live for pesto and could slather it on anything except, maybe, Rice-Crispy Treats. This pizza has marinated chicken, thinly cut prosciutto, garlic and avocado drizzled with luscious creamy pesto and topped with rocket (a type of lettuce that tastes like arugula). We've only just delved into the menu (there are 38 choices and that doesn't include the endless possibilities in Make-Your-Own). Next on my list is the Salmon Benedict with authentic Hollandaise sauce OR the Sweet Potato with pine nuts, gorgonzola and marinara. Thankfully the prices are reasonable, a large pie (8 slices) for ~$20. They also deliver all around the neighborhood for a $2 fee. Not bad for gourmet ingredients and awesome flavor.
The Dunes
The Dunes Restaurant and Kiosk is located on the water in Palm Beach and is perfect for delicious food after a night of wine and festivity or right before you hit the links. I’ve had the Bacon and Egg Roll and the barbeque sauce is so rich and smoky. It reminds me of walking around at the Rib Cook-Off in Reno. It is actually the first barbeque sauce I’ve tried in Australia and it didn’t disappoint. The eggs are scrambled on a burger-type bun with thick chunks of bacon on top. I haven’t eaten anything else on their menu because we only stayed a weekend but at the kiosk you can sip smoothies and juices, enjoy fresh baked muffins and take in the ocean view. They also serve Campos coffee which is in the upper echelons of quality and has a cult following in Australia. I will return to the Dunes to enjoy that delectable sandwich again, hopefully on a weekend where I’m stopping by on my way to the beach.
